Script Outline

Scene 1: Morning
Family at home. Father eating breakfast, mother rushing around getting ready for work, can’t find her keys. Jordan has taken the keys but won’t give them back. Latoya finds them and gives them to her mother. Mother goes to work, Jordan gets upset because she didn’t say goodbye to her mother and has a tantrum, she spills her drink all over Latoya’s homework. Latoya is fed up and drags her off to school.
Scene 2: Supermarket
Latoya and Jordan go to the supermarket on the way to school to get crisps for her packed lunch. Jordan wrecks a display. Latoya and shopkeeper have an argument. Jordan runs out, Latoya is left to pick up food. Then chases after Jordan.
Scene 3: Bus Stop
Jordan messes about at the bus stop and takes an old, blind man's stick so that he falls over. The old man gets very angry and starts telling Latoya off for not looking after her sister properly. Latoya tries to get Jordan to apologise to the old man, but she won’t.
Scene 4: School Playground
Bullies gang up on Latoya, take her bag and won’t give it back, leaving her in tears.
Scene 5: Classroom
Form teacher asks for homework and collects it in. Teacher takes the register and notices Latoya is late again. When Latoya arrives she hands her's in and gets told off because it is all wet – teacher is really angry. Latoya tries to use her mobile to warn her mother that she has a detention so can’t pick her sister up from school. Teacher is alerted by the bullies that Latoya is using her mobile and gets very cross. Latoya runs out of the classroom crying. Her best friend follows her.
Scene 6: Girls Toilet
Bullies in the toilet talking, Latoya runs in and they pick on her, calling her a “freak”, they beat her up and leave her crying.
Scene 7: Lunchtime
Latoya’s best friend asks what’s wrong and why she can never go out anymore, she invites her out on Saturday. Latoya starts to explain but her friend doesn’t understand why having a naughty sister stops her going out. Latoya tries to explain, friend gets annoyed that this is the first she has heard of it.
Scene 8: Visit from Social Worker
Mum has to clear up the messy living room in anticipation of the social worker’s visit, mumbling about her useless husband who leaves everything to her. Social Worker arrives, gives useless advice i.e. be stricter, more discipline, spend more time with Jordan etc. Jordan continually interrupts the visit. Mum says there is nothing wrong with Jordan, that other people don't know how to handle her and that she is just high spirited and sensitive. Clearly the mother feels Latoya is the problem not handing in her homework, getting detention etc. The social worker leaves without offering any help.
Scene 9: Bedroom [watch this scene]
Jordan goes into Latoya’s bedroom, wrecks it and breaks her favourite and expensive bracelet that belonged to her grandmother. Latoya and Jordan have a fight, mother comes in and tries to sort it out. She tells Latoya she is very disappointed in her behaviour; detention at school, getting visits from the social worker, fighting with her sister etc.
Scene 10:
Latoya creeps downstairs with a suitcase, leaves a note on the table and walks out…
